Preview: Express Out To Protect Unbeaten Start

Express FC visit Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium for a rescheduled Uganda Premier League match against Wakiso Giants on Friday.

This game was rescheduled from match-day six due to prior circumstances, and it was later brought forward from Sunday after the hosts informed UPL that the venue was earlier booked.

Express encountered a suspension in their games after their fans assaulted assistant referee Fahad Ssekayuba following a draw against UPDF.

However, the fans responsible have been apprehended, restoring normalcy.

Despite remaining undefeated this season, Express still has a pending match against rivals SC Villa as well.

Despite holding two games in hand, they presently hold the fifth position in the league standings. Winning both postponed fixtures could potentially propel them to second place.

Express has defied expectations with their performance, especially after losing key players like Allan Kayiwa, last season’s top scorer, and their team captain.

Contrastingly, Wakiso Giants have struggled to convert their attractive style of play into positive results.

With only four points from six games, they currently rank second from the bottom, having secured just one victory and endured four defeats.

Wakiso Giants are on a troubling streak, having suffered three consecutive losses recently, and Coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda will be under pressure to deliver.
