Onduparaka put up a spirited fight at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua to secure all the three points against Kaaro Karungi in their FUFA Big League encounter on Thursday.

Coach-player Ceasar Okhuti was in fine form again, appearing on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist in Onduparaka’s 3-0 win at home.

Okhuti has now played and scored in three of the Arua-based side’s only four wins so far.

Onduparaka’s Thursday victory comes as a timely response after the Caterpillars had just lost 0-2 away to Jinja North.

At Greenlight Stadium, Okhuti scored the opening goal as Dominic Abonga and Ezra Bida scored the second and third goals for the hosts respectively.

In the first of the five added minutes of the first half, Okhuti scored from James Jarieko’s pin point cross, before the veteran striker set up Dominic Abonga who tapped in from a well taken free-kick in the 52nd minute.

Ezra Bida’s 84th minute goal for Onduparaka, also his first this season all but confirmed that the home side would take all the three points.

The win moves the Caterpillars to sixth position with twelve points from eight games.

Up next for Onduparaka is a long trip away Lugazi on Friday, November 24.
