Trio Join Uganda Cranes’ World Cup Qualifiers Camp

As Uganda Cranes gear up for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the team welcomed three new additions to their camp.

Goalkeepers Salim Omar Magoola from Richards Bay and Ismail Watenga from Golden Arrows arrived last evening, fortifying the team’s roster.

Later in the night, defender Halidi Lwaliwa, representing North Macedonia’s FK Bregalnica ┼átip, also joined the squad in Morocco.

Express FC midfielder Ramsey Kawooya, recently called back to the team, is expected to link up with the squad on Wednesday evening.

Unfortunately, Bobosi Byaruhanga from Austin is reported to have sustained an injury, possibly sidelining him from the qualifiers.

The group of Richard Basangwa, Abdu Aziizi Kayondo, Khalid Aucho (Captain), Fahad Bayo, Rogers Mato, Bevis Mugabi, and Elvis Bwomono had previously joined the team.

The team’s sole training session on Wednesday evening will take place at Berkane FC’s training facility.

Under the guidance of new head coach Paul Put, Uganda Cranes will commence their campaign against Guinea on November 17, followed by a match against Somalia on November 21.
