Uganda Cranes: Midfielder Out of World Cup Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes will be missing midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga at the start of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification campaign due to an injury.

The-SportsNation has learned about Bobosi’s injury, awaiting official confirmation from the Federation.

Bobosi was part of the Cranes’ squad that left Entebbe to Morocco for matches against Guinea (November 17) and Somalia (November 21).

His absence is a significant setback, leading to the recall of Express midfielder Ramsey Kawooya as his replacement.

Bobosi, who currently plays for American side Austin FC II on loan from Czech side Vyškov, previously represented Vipers and was named the 2021 FUFA Player of the Year.

He has amassed 20 appearances for the Uganda Cranes.

His absence poses a significant blow to the national squad, given Byaruhanga’s influence and contributions to the team’s strategies and gameplay, under new coach Paul Put.
