Express midfielder Ramsey Kawooya has been recalled to the Uganda Cranes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier games against Guinea and Somalia.
Kawooya was initially missing on the final list as Head coach Paul Joseph Put confirmed a 27-man squad on Friday ahead of the Uganda Cranes’ trip to Morocco to commence their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.
The Express midfielder was not part of the twelve local players who boarded the plane as the Cranes departed from Entebbe Airport on Sunday at 10 pm.
FUFA, on Tuesday, November 14 announced that Kawooya is the latest addition to Uganda Cranes camp.
“Kawooya today afternoon departed Uganda to join the camp in Berkane, Morocco,” FUFA confirmed in Tuesday.
“Goalkeepers Isima Watenga and Salim Omar Magoola and defender Halidi Lwaliwa will join the camp later today,” FUFA added.
The other locally based players are Jack Komakech, Garvin Kizito, Kenneth Ssemakula, Rogers Torach, Bright Anukani, Huud Mulikyi, Allan Oyirwoth, Yunus Ssentamu, Milton Karisa, Fred Amaku, Dennis Omedi and Umar Lutalo.
Uganda is pooled in Group G of the qualifiers with Algeria, Botswana, Guinea, Mozambique, and Somalia.
The Cranes will kick off their campaign against Guinea on November 17th before facing Somalia on the 21st, with all games set to take place at Berkane Municipal Stadium in Morocco.
