Kampala Queens reclaimed the top spot in the 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Rines on Sunday at Wakissha.
First-half goals from Fazila Ikwaput and Zainah Nandede secured the defending champions’ win at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Ikwaput netted in the opening minute, collecting from Hassifa Nassuna, while Nandede capitalized on Lukia Namubiru’s nod in the 18th minute.

This third victory in four games propelled Kampala Queens to 10 points, putting them at the league’s summit.
The team had briefly dropped to second on goal difference after Uganda Martyrs’s 2-2 draw with Asubo on Saturday, but regained the lead with this triumph.
The only points Kampala Queens dropped this season were in a 2-2 away draw with Makerere University.
Sam Charles Ssenyange Kadidi’s charges who started the season with a 2-1 win over Uganda Martyrs, came into Sunday’s game on the back of a 1-0 win over UCU Lady Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Rines remains second from the bottom with just one point from four games.
They drew 1-1 with Makerere, and lost to Uganda Maryrs and Kawempe Muslim.
