Jinja North United’s journey in the current season took a positive turn as they clinched their maiden victory with a commendable 2-0 win against Onduparaka in a FUFA Big League encounter at Kyabazinga Stadium on a Monday.

Derrick Basoga and Bronson Nsubuga found the back of the net, securing a crucial three points for Jinja North.

This victory propelled Jinja North United to a total of eight points after participating in eight games.

The triumph not only marked a significant milestone for the team but also alleviated the mounting pressure on coach Sadiq Ssempigi, who had been under scrutiny since his transition from Mbarara City.

For Coach Ssempigi, this win held an extra layer of significance as he faced his former team, adding a personal touch to the already remarkable achievement.

The result, however, dealt a blow to Onduparaka, experiencing their fourth defeat of the season and subsequently dropping to the 10th position with nine points from seven games.

Looking ahead, Jinja North United will be eager to capitalize on the momentum gained from this maiden victory as they approach their upcoming fixtures.

Meanwhile, for Onduparaka, the setback not only hinders their current standing but also dims their aspirations of making an immediate return to the prestigious Uganda Premier League.
