•Kaaro Karungi Vs Kiyinda Boys – St George Arena

Jinja North, in their quest for a first win this season, faces a tricky encounter against Onduparaka in the FUFA Big League at Kyabazinga Stadium on Monday.

The team has encountered a challenging start, amassing only five points from their initial seven games.

The heightened expectations following an extensive transfer window, which included the appointment of new coach Sadiq Ssempigi from Mbarara City, have not materialized into the desired results.

The team’s journey commenced with a 1-1 draw against Booma, followed by a disappointing home loss to Police. Subsequent back-to-back draws against Blacks Power and Mbale Heroes further added to their struggles.

A 2-0 defeat to Calvary raised concerns, despite subsequent draws against Kyetume and Kiyinda Boys.

While the performance on the pitch might not paint the direst picture, the fans’ restlessness has prompted calls for the removal of the coach.

The pressure is palpable as Jinja North looks to find effective strategies to secure victories in upcoming matches, starting with Onduparaka.

Ssempigi, undeterred by the challenges, finds solace in facing Onduparaka, a team he was previously associated with as an Assistant coach.

The familiarity with their style and dynamics might be the catalyst needed for Jinja North to secure a much-needed win.

But a lot has changed for the Caterpillars who suffered UPL relegation last season, followed by departure of key players.

They sit in eighth place, having clinched three wins, including a recent 2-1 triumph over Young Elephants.

Notably, coach-player Caesar Okhuti’s decisive brace secured the victory against Young Elephant.

However, Onduparaka’s vulnerability lies in their three consecutive away defeats this season, presenting an opportunity that Jinja North will be eager to capitalize on to break their winless streak.
