Uganda Cranes: Final Squad for World Cup Qualifiers Named

Uganda Cranes final squad for the two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches has been named.

The final Uganda Cranes team, under new Head Coach, Paul Put, has 12 local based players including Allan Oyorwoth (Masaza Cup) who has never played in Uganda Premier League!

The list has been shortened from the provisional 36-man team that was initially summoned.

Notably, goalkeepers Nafian Alionzi and Joel Mutakubwa, Mustafa Kizza, injured Benjamin Nyakoojo, Isma Mugulusi, Hamza Kawooya and Joachim Ojera are the dropped players.

Scheduled for 17th and 21st November, Uganda will compete against Guinea and Somalia respectively, with both matches set to take place in Morocco.

The final squad is expected to depart for Berkene, Morocco on 12th November, per earlier communication.

The games will start Paul Put’s reign as Uganda Cranes head coach and the Belgian will hope to impress.

Uganda Cranes is in Group G, alongside Algeria, Somalia, Guinea, Botswana, and Mozambique, with the top team qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
