Lower Division Playoffs: Nkumba Force Decider Against Falcons

Nkumba Marines squared the quarterfinal series at 1-1 by defeating Falcons 80-71 in the ongoing FUBA Division One Playoffs.

Despite Falcons winning the first game 63-58, Nkumba’s resilience and strong rebounding in Game Two gave them the edge, leading 23-19 after the first quarter and maintaining their advantage throughout.

Abraham Chuol Dut showcased an impressive performance for Nkumba with a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds, supported by Mayep Majok (17), Arop Mahol (16) and Highman Ssemakula (15) who scored in double figures.

For Falcons, Mark Ngobi led with 20 points, while Gerald Ayiko contributed 9 points and 11 rebounds, and Joseph Kavuma and Khamisi Saidi added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The series is now level, and the winner of the decider will meet the victor between Livingstone and Tropical Royals, with Livingstone currently holding a 1-0 lead.

Additionally, Victoria University secured a 2-0 victory over UMU Flames to process to the semis. JT Jaguars lead their series against Miracle 1-0, and Livingston is ahead 1-0 against Tropical Royals in other quarterfinal matchups.

The ultimate prize for the top two teams in the finals will be direct tickets to the National Basketball League.
