Preview: Vipers Aiming for the Top Spot

Vipers are determined to ascend to the top as they face Mbarara City at Kakyeka Stadium in the upcoming match on Tuesday.

The Venoms have displayed an impressive start this season, securing victories over Gaddafi and Arua Hill in their initial two matches.

Their confidence is high as they revisit Kakyeka, where they triumphed 2-1 during the 2021/22 league season, just before the hosts were relegated.

Bobosi Byaruhanga and Ibrahim Orit previously netted for the Venoms, with Pistis Barenge later pulling one back for the Ankole Lions in the closing moments of the game.

While the Visitors haven’t entirely convinced thus far, their primary focus at this stage of the season is accumulating points.

Considering their consistent aspiration for Continental football, there’s minimal room for error.

As for Mbarara City, they return to Kakyeka, where they faced a 1-0 defeat against fellow newcomers NEC in their opener.

However, their resilient performance in the subsequent match, resulting in a goalless draw against Express at Wankulukuku, has rekindled their spirits.

Securing maximum points against Vipers might be a formidable challenge, but earning another point could serve as a crucial building block for Mbarara City’s future endeavors.

With Head Coach Wasswa Bbosa leading from the touchline, Vipers may find Mbarara City a challenging opponent.
