KCCA FC, Uganda’s representative in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, faces a huge task as they host Libya’s Abu Salem in the return leg at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday.
In the first leg held in Tunisia, Libya’s Abu Salem SC emerged victorious with a 3-1 win.
Youngster Abubaker Mayanja, coming off the bench, provided a glimmer of hope for Sergio Traguil’s men.
The Kasasiro Boys who received an exemption from the first preliminary round, also had Mustafa Mujuzi sent off in a name player in Tunisia.

KCCA now has to at least two unanswered goals to secure a place in this year’s group stages.
The Hosts lost to BUL 1-0 in the League at Njeru and the pressure will be huge to deliver.
Unfortunately, new signings Mustafa Kizza and Emmanuel Loki cannot participate in this game as they were not registered. However, they could feature if KCCA FC progresses to the group stages.
On a positive note, forward Shaban Muhammad has returned to full training and will be available for selection.
Abu Salem, the visitors, arrived in the Country early this week and can go through even with a 1-0, 2-1 or 3-2 loss.

Traguil said that he is determined to rectify the mistakes from the first leg in Tunis. He expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and emphasized the importance of being in control, converting chances, and giving their all to overturn the result.
“We want to make a response in the second leg,” Traguil stated.
“The players are ready and understand the responsibility. We believe in our team and will strive to turn the tide. We must be in control, minimize previous mistakes, and capitalize on opportunities. We’ll give it our all.”
