*Gaddafi 1-2 Kitara
*UPDF 0-2 Wakiso Giants
*SC Villa 3-0 NEC
Wakiso Giants secured their first victory of the season, defeating UPDF FC 2-0 at Bombo Barracks Ground.
Mulamba Bulanchar, coming off the bench, broke the deadlock in the second half by tapping in Kimera Kenneth’s shot that was spilled by goalkeeper Wasswa Yusuf in the 64th minute.
In the 79th minute, Kimera doubled Wakiso Giants’ tally with a skillful finish, eluding a hard-working Vuni Bright Joseph before finding the roof of the net.
The hosts will rue their missed opportunities, with Achumu Faridi unable to convert twice despite some impressive footwork that forced the goalkeeper into a fine save.
Nsimbe Jibril also had a chance at goal, but his effort was straightforward for the goalkeeper to handle.
Kimera kept the hosts’ defense busy, with one of his headers being tipped over the bar by the goalkeeper.
This win marks Wakiso Giants’ first Uganda Premier League victory of the season, following a draw with Bright Stars and a loss to Maroons in their opening two matches.
On the other hand, UPDF FC has suffered consecutive defeats, falling to Kitara FC and managing a goalless draw against URA FC in their season opener.
