URA FC goalkeeper Denis Otim has started living up to his promises, and reassured the masses that he can only get better.
Following the departure of skipper Nafian Alionzi and Hannington Ssebwalunyo, URA brought in Otim and Rodgers Omedwa to boost the goalkeeping department that already had James Alitho.
In the three goalkeepers, URA have quality. Otim, however is clearly their best preferred option, at the moment.
Upon his arrival at the Nakawa-based club from Express, Otim promised to keep as many clean sheets as possible to help the team achieve the season’s target’s.
He has since gone on to establish himself as the number one custodian at the club, going on to start both of the Tax Collectors opening games this season, and consequently kept two cleansheets.

Otim started in goal as URA drew 0-0 away to UPDF, and also masterminded the Tax Collectors posts as they beat Gaddafi FC 2-0 at Mehta Stadium, Lugazi to secure their first win of the season, thanks to goals from Moses Aliro Najib Fesali, plus the goalkeepers outstanding perfomance.
Otim was named Man Of The Match in URA’s Friday victory, after which he said, “It has been a spirited fight! I applaud all my team mates and our coaches for this win.”
“The coaches prepared us well, and the players executed the plan perfectly. We really worked hard for this game, and at the end, we earned the result we got, we deserved it.”

“This was a very hard game. It wasn’t as easy as it looks now, Otim added, despite the scoreboard showing 2-0 after 90 minutes in URA’s favor.
The in-form shotstopper further noted that two cleansheets in two games doesn’t now call for his complacency.
“I’m so happy for the clean sheet, but I can’t say I was at 100%, I still need to do better. I can do better.”
“I can’t relax now, There’s pressure to try to keep up this good perfomance. I’m challenged to work even harder.”
The Friday victory took URA to fourth place on four points after two games, as they await Saturday and Sunday results that are most likely to alter the table standings.
Next on Tax Collectors’ list is a visit to Soltilo Bright Stars FC on Friday next week.
