Lugazi’s Newly Signed Striker Crosses To Kyetume

Lugazi FC’s newly aquired striker Jimmy Okiror has joined another FUFA Big League side Kyetume FC, The-SportsNation can reliably confirm.

The striker, who was unveiled at Lugazi in August on a three-year agreement has now crossed to the Mukono-based side on a season-long loan deal.

The 2023/24 FUFA Big League officially kicked off on Thursday, but Lugazi, whose first game is on Wednesday will unveil their players this today, Friday 22nd September at Lugazi FC stadium in Najjembe.

The event will see them have a friendly game in front of their fans, and Okiror will not be part of the arrangements, but other new signings like experienced defender Savio Kabugo amongst other players will grace the occasion.

Okiror joined Lugazi from Blacks Power FC. Diminutive in size, the youthful striker’s abilities can’t be underlooked – he is so aggressive infront of goal.

At Blacks Power, there were other centre forwards bigger and taller than him, but he was still preferred to start games ahead of them all, because of his ability to hold up play and impressive finishing techniques.

The striker was instrumental in coach Vialli Bainomugisha’s Blacks Power side that secured top flight football in style, claiming the number one spot of the available three, emerging FUFA Big League Champions in the 2021/22 season.

Okiror was the club’s second-top scorer with six goals that season, all of which he scored in the first round. He sat out for most of the second round owing to personal issues. He further stayed out as Blacks Power played in the UPL and got relegated back to the second division.

This season, he joined Lugazi, and eventually joined his brother and former Blacks Power teammate, defender Solomon Opolot at Kyetume.
