Chwezi Await Crowning Day In Mbarara High Old Boys League

Chwezi are the champions of season 8 of the Mbarara High School Old Boys League – Chaapa League.

Chwezi reached this milestone after a hard fought 1-0 win over Hezibola during weekend’s outing at NEC grounds in Bugolobi.

Osbert was at the end of Owen’s assist to bundle home the only goal of the game to ensure victory for the class of 1998.

The result consolidates Chwezi’s place at the summit and the side can’t be overtaken come the final round next outing on October 8.

This league, is one of the old boys’ leagues sponsored by Guinness Uganda.

“One of the reasons why we do this as Guinness is not only to spread the spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood but also to interact our consumers in the spaces where they feel most comfortable and where they shine,” said Elizabeth Mutamuliza, Guinness Uganda Brand Manager.

It’s a remarkable achievement for Chwezi who finished sixth in season seven when Msamiati emerged champions.

Chwezi has collected 64 points thanks to their 20 wins and 4 draws in 25 games.

Matu Athletic who are in second place, have 59 points while Yobo Yobo are third with 46 points.

Match Day 25 also witnessed the recognition of outstanding individual performances. Norman Rukaari of Matu Athletic secured the prestigious Golden Glove award after keeping 20 clean sheets.

Formed in 2017, the Chaapa League objectives are stipulated in the league constitution reflecting on promotion of cohesion, reliability and productive development amongst the members.
