•Wakiso Giants 0-3 Maroons
•Arua Hill 0-1 Busoga United
•Gaddafi 1-2 Vipers
UPDF and URA played out a goalless draw in the Uganda Premier League opener at the Bombo Barracks Ground.
The two have played a stalemate in their last three meetings after they shared spoils in both games last season.
This is not the start that URA who are vying for the title expected but they will be happy with a point after a below par performance in Bombo.
The game was cagey as both sides barely created clear opportunities.
Both backlines were spot on to deal with any kinds of threats.
The best chance of the game however fell to the hosts at the start of the second half.
Zzinda Hussein played Achumu Faridi one on one with the Goalkeeper but the latter’s effort hit the Goalkeeper’s chest to deny him the opener.
Earlier, his free header went wide after good play from substitute Tenywa Henry.
The visitors also had a sight on goal but substitute Okech Emmanuel powerful shot was easily tamed into the Goalkeeper’s gloves.
What next
They will both return to action on Friday 22nd as UPDF take on Kitara FC at Masindi Stadium while URA will host Gaddafi FC at the Mehta Stadium.
