Busoga United got their season off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over Arua Hill in a league encounter played at Paridi Stadium in Adjumani.

Isaac Doka Mweru tapped in from close range after Arua Hill failed to deal with Jeremy Matata’s corner early in the game.

Arua Hill sieged in Busoga United’s half from thereafter, but under hot conditions in Adjumani where teams were given water-breaks, the result couldn’t be changed.

It’s an impressive result for Busoga United who also picked a 4-1 win at Barifa last season!

Busoga United’s preparations to kickoff of the season have been quiet, and their transfer business has left a lot to be desired.

And coach Vicent Lukyamuzi will hope that his side can build on this opening win for what promises to be a difficult season once again for the side.

Arua Hill whose league participation was in doubt earlier, will hope to turn things around, but hosting away from home will surely have an adverse effect on their results.

They lost a lot of players including captain Rashid Toha and forward Innocent Media while their transfer-ins may not be of the same calibre.

What next – Arua Hill visit Vipers on September 21 at Kitende while Busoga United visit NEC the following day at Lugogo.
