Arua Hill will play host to Busoga United in their first 2023/24 Uganda Premier League game at the Paridi Stadium in Adjumani.
The Kongolo have had a lot of issues in recent past and at one point, the club’s future to participate in the top flight were in total doubt.
The Club parted ways with CEO Pius Bamwinge while their home stadium at Barifa didn’t pass club licensing procedure.
Captain Rashid Toha, Bright Vuni, Richard Matovu, Innocent Media, Allan Mugalu among others have left the club.
The good news is that Midfielder Gaddafi Wahab has inked a contract extension to end all speculations linking him with a move away from the club.
The additions are far from convincing, with three so far confirmed – Nelson Mandela, John Rogers Okumu and promotion of youngster Juma Muzamir.
Another positive is that journeyman Livingston Mbabazi is also still at the club, but its work cut out for the coach this new season.
They host Busoga United, who are equally in poor state and have a squad that is devoid of quality and motivation.
Busoga United managed to shrug off relegation last season but this campaign, it will take a miracle for the Jinja-based side to stay a float.
Key players Laban Tibita and Peter Onzima have gone for greener pastures while Benon Tahomera and John Okurut returned to BUL after loan expiry.
Emmanuel Ajjo from fourth division side Kakira Cherries, Hamdan Nsubuga who returns to the Country after a stint in India (Southern Samity) and former Onduparaka defender Stephen Odongo are the new signings.
