Wananchi Eye Top Spot in Men’s Hockey League

Two sides with varying ambitions will meet on Sunday as second placed Wananchi take on second from the bottom Weatherhead Titans in the National Men’s Hockey League.

Wananchi are seeking to retain the trophy they have won six successive times, but they currently sit second below table leaders Weatherhead on goal difference.

By the time they take to the field on Sunday, they will have known the result between Weatherhead and Makerere as these two sides face off on Saturday.

Whatever happens on Saturday, Wananchi already know that an upset for them will diminish their chances of retaining the title.

But with the kind of opposition they will be facing, Wananchi should be confident of maximum points. Titans have managed to pick only four points this season and they have to their name 10 defeats thus far.

Weatherhead have been almost unplayable this season, and against Makerere, they’re expected to find no trouble in consolidating their position at the top.

Makerere have already lost seven times this term. A bet against them wouldn’t be mind blowing.

The other weekend games in the men’s division will see bottom side KHC originals take on their sister side Kampala StallionsStallions, and Thunders facing City Lions on Saturday.

Sunday will have 6th placed Badgers take on 3rd placed Rockets.
