Uganda Premier League side UPDF FC have finally unveiled Goalkeeper Okidi Jimmy.
As reported by The-SportsNation in July, Okidi was one of the players who were considered by the Army side from there sister club Young Simba that plies it’s trade in the Buganda Regional League.
The Custodian was intergral for Young Simba last season and guided them to the Buganda Regional League playoffs final where they lost 1-0 to Kiyinda Boys.
This will be his third stint with UPDF after featuring under Morley Byekwaso and Moses Basena when the team was still called Simba and then The Saints.
He also previously featured for Jinja based Gaddafi FC in the Regional League.
Okidi will however face stiff competition from Wasswa Yusuf and Mabuya Swaib for the starting slot.
He becomes the eleventh player to be unveiled by the Bombo based side after Wasswa Yusuf, Vuni Bright Joseph, Sam Kintu, Robert Eseru, Tebandeke Christopher, Tenywa Henry Penza, Shugai Kalisa, Kaija Derrick, Kabuye Bashir and Kawooya Edward.
After the departure of Brian Ssenyondo, UPDF FC will be under the stewardship of Pius Ngabo.
The Army side will kickoff their season against URA at the Bombo Barracks Ground on Sunday 17th.
