There will be no Nam Blazers as the National Basketball League playoffs get underway this Friday, September 14.

The Blazers withdrew from the ongoing season after completing their regular season games, a decision FUBA has since considered.

Namuwongo who have finished second on the table, earlier communicated to the Federation of their withdrawal citing a recent decision about BAL representation.

Teams that finish in top eight (1-8) places after the regular season qualify for Playoffs.

Without second-placed Nam Blazers, FUBA has handed ninth-placed Kampala Rockets a ticket to this year’s playoffs.

Earlier reports suggested that a seventh team, which was set to face second placed Nam Blazers in the quarterfinals, was to earn a walkover to the semis.

Defending champions City Oilers (1) face newcomers Kampala Rockets (8) while JT Lady Jaguars meet Magic Stormers in the Ladies division this Friday.

The Quarterfinals are being played on a best of three format (race to two – first team to win two games qualify to semis).

The semis (best of five), will get underway on Friday, September 29 while the Finals (best of seven) will start on October 18.

If City Oilers overcome Kampala Rockets, they will meet winner between Our Saviour and Ndejje Angels in the semifinals.

The other route will see winner between KIU Titans Vs KCCA Panthers take on winner of Power Vs UCU Canons.
