Preview: Super Eight Champions BUL seek perfect start in league
BUL FC will be hoping for a strong start when they as visit Bright Stars in their opening game of the 2023/24 Uganda premier League season.
The Jinja based side start off this campaign on a bright note having won the FUFA super eight title when they beat URA on penalties earlier this month.
They are under a new gaffer Abbey Bogere Kikomeko, who took over from Simeone Masaba.
Kikomeko made an instant impact helping BUL win the Super eight trophy earlier this month.

BUL, despite loosing a couple of players including goalkeeper Saidi Keni, they made some serious additions to their team.
Among the new faces at the club include youngster Lawrence Tezikya, goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa, Madondo, Alex Kitata among others.
They finished 7th in the league last season then under Masaba who was an interim coach.
But now, with all these players available, the Jinja based side will be hoping to compete with the top sides on the big prize this season.
They have been always a stubborn side to all the big teams but this time, the goal will be to compete for BUL FC.
Against Bright Stars, there will be no room for error as they target a strong start to the new season.

On the other hand, Bright Stars will be starting a new life under new gaffer Joseph Mutyaba.
Mutyaba was named as the new head coach earlier last month, replacing Asaph Mwebaze.
The Stars, just like BUL have also recruited a couple of signings ahead of the new season.
Among the new additions include former KCCA defender Samuel Kato , Shafic Kakande , John Alou Kokas among others.
They finished 9th under Mwebaze and were also beaten finalists in the Uganda Cup against Vipers SC.
And this season, this being their first home game, they will be targeting maximum points to start on a bright note.
