Child Care Team emerged the champion of the the International Taekwando Federation (ITF) Uganda Association Northern Championship which was held in Gulu district on Sunday.
Child care topped the rankings acter collecting a total of 47 medals, with 21 gold, 15 Silver and 11 bronze.
The two day event attracted nine teams from Northern region and a total of 156 competitors.
Gulu University taekwando club came out second with 32 medals (gold -13, silver-12 and bronze -7) while City gym ( gold -4, silver-5 and bronze -1) and Pabbo taekwando club (gold -4, silver-3 and bronze -6) completed the podium places.
All the nine competing teams scooped at least a medal including bottom side Combat Apirit taekwando club that managed a bronze.
The event attracted a couple of dignitaries including Politicians like Gulu West MP Hon Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, who was the chief guest.
According to Robert Ojambo, the General Secretary of ITF Uganda Association, said thet the Championship is Manifest of how rapid the game is growing across the whole country.
He also promised more championships in the Northern region this year including one in Kitgum October 28-29.
The Championships are being help to prepare for the East African Championship which will be held in Kenya from 5-8 December.
