Brazil Serie A continues on Wednesday (Thursday early morning in Uganda) as
Internacional welcome Sao Paulo at Estadio Jose Pinheiro Borda.
The matchweek 23 finds both teams struggling to get things going and the target will be for both teams to snap their winless streaks,
Internacional to start with have not won a game in their last 10 games, and sit 14th with 26 points.
Sao Paulo on the other hand have gone seven games without a victory, and sit just two points above their hosts.
Internacional are now eyeing at least a place in the top 12, which will come with qualification to the group stages of next season’s Copa Sudamericana (an equivalent of CAF Confederation Cup or Europa League).
But the side has not scored a goal in their last three league games, including two goalless draws against Flamengo and Goais.
They will continue to miss Luiz Adriano (formerly at AC Milan) and Enner Valencia will continue to shoulder the scoring burden.
Internacional’s last win at home against Sao Paulo can be traced way back in 2019 when Rafael Sobis scored from the spot in the 77th minute in a 1-0 win.
And this promises to be another closely contested affair where we don’t see a winner.
