Uganda Premier League side are in advanced talks to sign former attacking midfielder Arafat Kakonge The-SportsNation can confirm.
Kakonge joined UPDF in 2020 after the club was promoted to the top flight.
Then, the team was under the stewardship of Kefa Kisala and assisted by Pius Ngabo who is now the Head coach at the Bombo based side.
However, he left the Army side after just one season and joined Police FC.

Apart from UPDF FC and Maroons, the offensive Midfielder also had a stint at Maroons, Wakiso Giants and Kyetume.
What is delaying the move is the club to pay the player his sign on fee after they both agreed on personal terms.
Once the deal materialises, Kakonge will reunite with Goalkeeper Waswa Yusuf, Vuni Bright Joseph, Sam Kintu and Robert Eseru who all rejoined the club.
Other signings are Left back Tebandeke Christopher, Tenywa Henry Penza, Shugai Kalisa, Kaija Derrick, Kabuye Bashir and Kawooya Edward.
UPDF will get their season underway against URA FC at the Bombo Barracks Ground on Sunday 17th.
