SC Villa’s latest signing Elvis Ngonde is so excited upon joining 16-time Uganda Premier League winners.
Ngonde will stay at the club until 2026 after joining the Jogoos on a three year contract as a free agent from Gaddafi FC.
Villa is a club with so much history as far as Uganda football is concerned, there is no single local or regional trophy on which SC Villa’s name is not inscribed. They also have nine League Cup titles and three CECAFA Clubs Cup titles.
Villa was the first Ugandan club to clinch a local double in 1986, a record which was extended to six ‘doubles’ in 2002.
The new Villa recruit realised just how much that means, and upon being unveiled at the club, he couldn’t hide his excitement.
“I am happy joining the Jogoos,” Ngonde admitted before adding; “I just can’t wait to see my self putting on the Jogoo jersey when the season begins.”
“I’ve been welcomed by everyone at the team and settled in well. SC Villa is a club that bases its roots on history and I can only perform to my best to be part of the great history here.
Hopefully, the midfielder’s debut will come so soon for him, as the Jogoos will kickoff their 2023/24 season this Friday, September, 15 at home against newly promoted side Kitara FC.
The talented defensive midfielder started his career from Busoga junior team before earning a promotion to the senior team in 2021 Later joining Gadaffi FC for a year UpTo the end of 2022/23/season.
The youngster has also featured for St Mary’s SS Kitende in USSA Football competitions and Uganda Cubs (National Boys U17).
