Aziz Damani will bowl off their National Women’s Super 7s T20 campaign against Wanderers on Saturday seeking to regain supremacy.
The tournament will see top seven teams – Soroti City, Wanderers, Aziz Damani, Pioneer, Olila High, Tornado Bees and Jinja SS face off.
Damani do feel they have debts to settle! Their league winning streak of four years was halted in July when Soroti City beat them to the National Women’s T20 League title.
As they begin the campaign of this inaugural competition, they will seek to return to the higher table.
Their rivals Soroti City already made their intentions clear. The side captained by Janet Mbabazi thumped Pioneer by 10 wickets last weekend in their opening game.
Damani have to respond in similar fashion. Against Wanderers, the record league winners will fancy their chances to win convincingly. Damani comfortably beat Wanderers in their double header in the league.
Before facing Damani in the afternoon, Wanderers will take on Pioneer in the morning. It will be Pioneer’s third game, but Wanderers’ first.
Wanderers will feel Pioneer are the kind of opponents they have to pick points from. Wanderers won it’s league double header against their Saturday morning opponents.
They will come expecting the same on Saturday, before facing the heavyweight in the afternoon.
