She Cranes versatile player Haniisha Muhammed has completed a move to join English side Surrey Storm.
The move follows Haniisha’s impressive performance at the recently concluded Netball World Cup.
The She Cranes player who joins from KCCA Netball Club, can play at both ends of the court – Goal Keeper and Goal Shooter – as evidenced at the World Cup.
“I am super excited to join Surrey Storm. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to play at a very high level and I’m looking forward to working extremely hard on and off the court,” Haniisha told the club website.
Haniisha was also part of the She Cranes squad Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The former UCU player joins Peace Proscovia at the team, but Proscovia might not be available at the start of the season, awaiting official communication.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Haniisha to Surrey Storm,” said Mikki Austin, the team coach.
“A tenacious Ugandan She Crane, who showed her prowess at the Netball World Cup this summer. Haniisha will bring a dogged tenacity and ball winning ability to our defensive end which we look forward to working with an integrating into the Netball Superleague here in the UK.”
Mary Nuba (Loughborough Lightning) and Stella Oyella (Strathclyde Sirens) are the other She Cranes player in United Kingdom.
