Former Adjumani Town Council midfielder Simon Okot has agreed terms to join Mbale Heroes FC.

According to sources close to the player, the holding midfielder will stay at the club for atleast a season after accepting a one-year employment contract with the Surgeons.

The newly promoted FUFA Big League side want only promotion to the top flight, and have trusted experienced tactician Asaph Mwebaze with the task of taking them to the ‘promised land’.

The coach has started assembling a side he’ll work with, and the midfielder is one of the players he has considered, after being impressed with his qualities in the middle of the park as the Surgeons lost 1-0 to BUL at Mbale Stadium last week.

Simon Okot has the attributes of a proper ‘deep six’; an admirable physique, ability to win back possession efficiently, vision and passing the ball effectively.

Okot has also previously played for Kitara FC, Onduparaka FC and Katwe United.

The Acholi Province player almost joined Blacks Power last season, but the deal fell through at the last minute, and joined Adjumani Town Council instead.
