The management of JKL Sports franchise has put their men’s basketball team, JKL Dolphins basketball club, up for sale.
This is one of the restructuring process undergoing at the franchise, per the letter from the Board of Directors.
The management wants to remain with only the Ladies basketball team – JKL Lady Dolphins.
“This will enable the JKL Lady Dolphins to compete at the continent level as well as for the club to venture into other Sports Disciplines,” part of the letter reads.
“We are therefore inviting interested bidders to submit their formal offers through the club’s known email address
jkldolphinsbasketball@gmail.com effective September 5 2023 to October 31 2023.”
JKL completed their regular season assignment with a 8-14 record, and are safe from relegation.
This, is not in any way related to what forced Nam Blazers pull out of the National Basketball League this season.
And in fact, JKL Dolphins are ready be complete their games this season in case they make the playoffs, which is dependant of other teams’ results.
The men’s team has failed to match the success of the Women side which has won the league title twice in the last three seasons, they were also beaten by UCU Lady Canons last season.
The Club was started in February 2014 in Division Two and gained promotion to Division One in 2015.
In 2016, the club went unbeaten and gained promotions to the NBL.
Dolphins has been in the top National Basketball League
since 2017.
