Braddy Jeans Wokorach: Former NEC Goalkeeper Joins UPL Giants

Goalkeeper Braddy Jeans Wokorach has joined Ugandan traditional giants SC Villa shortly after leaving newly promoted Uganda Premier League (UPL) side NEC FC, The-SportsNation can reliably confirm.

The player, now only pending official unveiling has signed a three-year employment contract with Villa, that will keep him at the club until 2026.

The Jogoos are UPL record holders with 16 league titles – the most won by any club in the country. Last season, they almost extended their record to 17, but only fell short by a single point, as they finished third with 52 points as eventual champions Vipers SC and second placed KCCA FC both had just 53.

The goalkeeper was not in any rush to find a new team after leaving NEC, but when the Jogoos came calling, he didn’t hesitate to make the move.

Last season, Wokorach was very vital throughout NEC’s campaign to attain top flight football status. Statistically, he was also among one of the best goalkeepers in the FUFA Big League.

The shotstopper kept nine cleansheets in eighteen games, accounting for ten wins, five draws and only three loses, conceeding just eleven times in the process.

While talking to TheSportsNation after leaving NEC in July, Wokorach stated that he was now ready for a new challenge, now he has got one at his new home.

At Villa, Wokorach will have to compete for playing time with three other equally good goalkeepers in Meddie Kibirige, Norman Angufindru and Dalton Oyo.
