Ndejje Angels lost to KCCA Panthers 99-102 in a closely contested National Basketball League game at Lugogo.
Ndejje came into the game few hours after receiving good news about winning an appeal from an initial ruling from FUBA that had seen the side forfeit their two wins against City Oilers and Our Saviour.
And consequently, Gatwang Thuok who was initially judged to be ineligible and hence banned, was given greenlight to play.
He showed what Ndejje exactly missed in their previous loss to KIU Titans on Sunday, going on to hit 32 points.
Samuel Ajak added 30 while Joseph Kumbai contributed 16 points, but the efforts proved not enough.
Salim Kisilu (25), Emmanuel Odongkara (22) Martin Buluma (22) and Aaron Trevor Ojoo (13) scored in double digits for the Panthers.
Ndejje paid for their slow start in a game they conceded a 15-0 run for KCCA to take a 20-16 lead after the first quarter.
They cut the deficit to three points at halftime and Ndejje were down by just four points after the third quarter.
Ndejje had a 8-0 run in the fourth quarter to take a 79-75 lead, but KCCA fought back down the stretch take a deserved win in a game that saw the lead exchange hands 13 times.
It’s loss number 12 for John Omondi’s Ndejje University Angels who have won seven games this season.
They will face Rezlife Saints, UPDF Tomahawks and Kampala Rockets in their remaining games.
The Panthers on the other hand, improve their record to 08 wins and 12 losses with two games to go.
