Central Bank of Ethiopia and JKT Queens have reached the final for this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.

The two sides won their respective semifinal games that were held on Sunday at the FUFA Technical centre in Njeru.

In the first game of the day, JKT Queens came from a goal down to beat Buja Queens 3-1 in what was an entertaining affair.

Toepistar Situma had put BUJA Queens ahead in the 11th minute, a goal that made the difference at half time.

But goals from Abdallah Stumai, Donisia Minja and Gerald Winifrid ensured that JKT Queens made a come back to storm the finals in style.

In the other semifinal, CBE also needed a late come back to overcome Vihiga Queens at Njeru.

Bertha Omita had put Vihiga ahead at the restart of the second half after a goalless stalemate at half time.

But CBE, from Ethiopia, made a come back late in the game. Their captain Loza Abera scored at the death to send the game to extra time before Aregash Tadesse scored in extra time to send her side into wild celebrations.

The final between CBE FC and JKT Queens FC will be played on Wednesday this week to decide the CECAFA region representative at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

For Vihiga Queens FC and BUJA Queens, they will now battle for the third place play off on Wednesday this week before the final game.
