Sixteen-time Uganda Premier League (UPL) winners SC Villa are leading the race to sign Vipers’ striker Karim Ndugwa.
Ndugwa had just joined Vipers from BUL FC in January, but was not named in the Venoms’ final squad for the 2023/24 season, and his shirt number was given out to new signing Grant Matsiko.
That fuelled numerous speculations, with reports linking Ndugwa to a number of top clubs outside Uganda including Congo’s TP Mazembe and newly crowned Kenya Champions Gor Mahia, but a move to a home club seems more realistic.
Meanwhile, the striker has now started training with the Jogoos first team as the club’s technical team headed by Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic continue to assess him.

Ndugwa is still a subject of keen interest to his former side BUL FC, who have also considered having him back, while Maroons FC and Express FC are all interested in his services.
Without a doubt, Ndugwa is a proven goal-scorer, who could play for any Ugandan club at the moment.
He has previously featured for SC Villa and Express before, besides other clubs like URA FC, Wakiso Giants, Mbarara City FC, AFC Leopards in Kenya and Horseed in Somalia among other clubs.
