Former URA captain Shafic Kagimu will go home tonight with mixed feelings, his new club FC Rabotnicki was very close to victory, but eventually lost to Shkendija in the Macedonian fifth round of the First Football League.
Kagimu scored the only goal for his team in the game, his first for the club, since joining them from Kenyan Giants Gor Mahia, and it came as early as his first game.
He would want to be so happy that he scored such a beauty of a goal on his debut, and yet yet feel so sad it wasn’t enough to help them win the match.
Kagimu has already exhibited how important he can be at his new club, and was started in the attacking midfield role, and he delivered.
He scored in the 28th minute of the game, though his team eventually lost the game by two goals to one at the Boris Trajkovski – Madjari Stadium.
Kagimu’s team had a 1-0 advantage until the 90th minute, when they unfortunately conceded two goals in extra time.
The technically gifted midfielder scored a fantastic goal, after he rattled Shkendia’s net with a long shot in the 28th minute.
Earlier on, Eraldo Chinari had a nice chance for Shkendija, but Igor Alexovski saved a goal-bound effort with a fantastic intervention.
In the second half, Shkendija was looking for an equalizer, and in extra time, they won.
In the 91st minute, Bruno Dita managed to beat Alexovski with a header, and in the 96th minute, Krasniqi also scored a goal for the visitors’ triumph.
