FUFA Big League side Calvary FC has completed the signing of former Vipers forward Dickens Okwir, The-SportsNation can confirm.

Okwir joins Calvary from another second division side Blacks Power after being relegated from the Uganda Premier League last season.

He has put pen to paper on a one year employment contract that will see him at the Midigo ground until the end of the 2023/2024 season.

He leaves Blacks Power after just one season since joining from UPDF FC.

Okwir who previously won the FUFA Big League golden boot with Amuka Bright stars will add creativity and experience to the Yumbe based side, his hard-working instinct and eye for the goal will also be key as they seek to gain promotion to the top flight.

The forward had other offers from Uganda Premier League clubs but the Yumbe based side provided a juicy one.

Apart from Vipers, Blacks Power and Amuka Bright Stars, Okwir also had a stint at Paidha Black Angels, Onduparaka and UPDF FC.
