St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) emerged as the champions of the East African Rugby 15s Schools Games, held in Huye, Rwanda.
The team’s tournament performance culminated in a joyous end as they secured a 23-9 victory against Kenyan school—All Saints, in the final to win the title.
Despite their disappointments in the central and national competitions earlier this year, the team managed to rise and establish themselves as a dominant side in the East African schools’ rugby scene.
They managed to clinch the title with an unbeaten run that saw them win all their four games played in the competition.
Matthew Musasizi, once again, walked away with the Most Valuable Player award added to his cabinet.
In the parallel 7s category, the competition was equally intense, culminating in an all-Kenyan final.
Kayongo emerged triumphant in this final, defeating Vihiga 21-0 to clinch the 7s title.
