FUFA Big League side Booma FC have unveiled Kaaro Karungi FC versatile player Derrick Muhindo as their first signing this season. The club is most interested in his services as a goalkeeper.
“We grip Goalkeeper Muhindo from Kaaro karungi as Quest for UPL continues. Welcome to the home of Talent,” the club announced, while confirming the arrival of the player.
Muhindo, who has also previously played for Bweera Boys, Broken SC and Kasese’s New Villa was very important player as Kaaro Karungi earned promotion to FUFA Big League.
Kaaro Karungi had acquired Muhindo as a midfielder, but he was later employed in defence as the club gained promotion to the second division.
He was later put into goal after Kaaro Karungi had a goalkeeping crisis, keeping a couple of clean sheets before saving two penalties in the playoffs final at Kyamate grounds to send the team to Big League. That prompted SC Villa to sign him, but his time there was very short, hence returning to Kaaro Karungi.
Booma, in their second season in the Big League have acquired services of tried, tested and proven coach Mark Twinamasiko to guide them to the Uganda Premier League (UPL).
Going by last season’s perfomance, Booma, that finished four positions and three points above Kaaro Karungi is an ugrade for the goalkeeper.
Booma finished seventh bout of 16 teams, having collected 40 points from games.
Meanwhile, Kaaro Karungi accumulated 37 points to finish eleventh.
