- Kampala Queens 6-1 FAD FC
Kampala Queens climaxed their group stages of the CAF Women’s Champions zonal qualifiers with a comfortable 6-1 win over FAD FC in a game held at Njeru on Monday.
Five goals from Fazila Ikwaput and one from Elizabeth Nakigozi were enough as KQ demolished the Djiboutian side.
Aden Rahma scored the only goal for FAD as they suffered their another defeat in this year’s tournament.
Ikwaput’s five goals saw her move top on the scorers list , having scored three against Yei Joint Stars in the opener.
It was a needed win for Kampala Queens,.who were only desperate for maximum points to keep their hopes of storming the semi finals alive.
They now moved to seven points and are still second.
But their close competitor in group A , Buja Queens picked up a vital 1-0 win over Yei Joint Stars on Monday afternoon to move to six points and have one game to go.
And that meant, despite Kampala Queen’s convincing win against FAD, they will now need to pray that winless FAD beat Buja Queens if they are to advance to the semi finals.
Kampala Queens, who are making their debut on the continent will only have themselves to blame having dropped vital points against Buja Queens and CBE recently.
