Abdul Nsereko: Police, SMASK Star Part Ways

FUFA Big League side Police FC have terminated striker Abdul Nsereko’s contract, for reasons not yet made known by neither the club nor the player.

“We can confirm mutually partying ways with forward Nsereko Abdul,” the club announced on Sunday.

“We thank him for his contribution towards the club during his brief spell with us and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” Police added.

The St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende (SMASK) striker had only joined the second division side midway through the 2022/23 season.

With SMASK, Nsereko was one of the overall most outstanding players of the 2023 USSSA boys’ football tournament.

Nsereko scored eleven goals to finish as the tournament’s top scorer, claiming the golden boot as SMASK emerged Champions. His goals were of great value to the school’s title-winning team.
Meanwhile, where Nsereko is leaving, eight new players have been introduced.

For the new season, the Cops have unveiled Isaac Ogwang, Ahmed Amayo, Raymond Onyai, Edmond ‘Sizzo’ Otim, Edward Kasibante, Steven Kabuye, Ivan Eyamu and Allan Bukenya.

Last season, Police narrowly missed out on a qualification slot by just three points, having accumulated 54 points from 30 games to finish fourth on a 16-team table, just a position below NEC FC who took up the third and last qualification slot to the UPL with 57 points.
