Samuel Kato: Defender To Ink One-Year Deal With Bright Stars

Samuel Kato Nemeyimana will be signing a short-term contract at Bright Stars, The-SportsNation can confirm.

Kato has been a point of discussion in the transfer window since ending his stay at Rwanda’s Bugesera FC.

The former KCCA FC defender trained with SC Villa and URA but deals failed to go through.

A source close to Bright Stars has told The-SportsNation that Kato will be inking a one-year contract.

The move will see Kato return to Uganda Premier League for the first time since leaving KCCA in 2021.

The lanky defender, good in air and with better game reading, also won CECAFA Kagame Cup with KCCA in 2019.

It’s strong to note that Bright Stars appointed Joseph Mutyaba as their head coach for the 2023/24 season, after the departure of Asaph Mwebaze.

Other Bright Stars new signings include Kakande Shafiq (captain Buwekula) and former URA graduates John Alou Kokus and Steven Mpoza.
