Zainah Nandede netted a late equaliser in added time as her side Kampala Queens picked a hard fought 1-1 draw against Ethiopia Commercial Bank (CBE) in a CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifer game held on Friday at Njeru.
Nandede, off the bench, headed in a well laid cross from left back Sumayiyah Komuntale to ensure that her side avoided defeat.
Loza Abera had earlier put CBE ahead at the start of the game and the side were on course for victory.

The draw leaves Kampala Queens second on four points from three games, but with top two teams going through to the semis, their qualification chances are no longer in their hands.
But now, Kampala Queens must win their remaining game, and also pray that Buja Queens lose one of their two remaining games against Yei joint stars and FAD.
Against CBE, it was another poor evening for KQ, who had lost to Buja Queens this week on Tuesday.

They conceded first, as early as the second minute through Abera, a goal that separated the two sides at half time.
After the break, head coach Sam Ssenyange introduced in Nandede for Florence Imanizabago, a move that later paid off.

Kampala Queens kept on pushing against a solid CBE side, and it paid off in added time, through Nandede who headed in Komuntale’s cross to send the home fans into wild celebrations.
KQ will feel proud for picking up a point against CBE, a side that is without a doubt one the of the best in this tournament – CBE are leading group A standings with now seven points and will need at least a draw in their last game to reach the semis.
Kampala Queens will take on FAD FC in their last group game next week on Monday.
