Vipers head Coach Neiva Leo has named a 21-man travelling squad for the upcoming CAF Champions League preliminary round opener against Jwaneng Galaxy FC on Sunday at the Lobatse Sports Complex in Bostwana.
It was also confirmed that Vipers will depart Entebbe International Airport on Friday morning aboard Ethiopian Airlines, have a stopover in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia before departing for Gaborone.
But among the notable absentees on the traveling team include defender Murushid Juuko and midfielder David Bagoole.
Vipers said that Juuko is just returning from a knee injury and still in the recovery process.
Midfielder Bagoole, Ivorian striker Desire Tety, and Martin Kizza have all been left out of the team.
For new signing Brazilian Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo akaTinga, he suffered an ankle injury in the last friendly and thus being left out as well.
But a couple of new signings including Patrick Mbowa, Grant Masiko, Brazilian striker Rodriguez Giancarlo have all made the final cut.
Captain Milton Karisa and striker Yunus Sentamu will be the key pillars as the Venoms head to Botswana.
Vipers will be seeking for first leg advantage when they take on Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday away from home.
They made history last season when they made it to the CAF champions League group stages for the first time in club history and will be seeking to start on that journey on Sunday.
