UPL Side Acquire Richard Wandyaka

Former BUL FC attacking midfielder Richard Wandyaka has joined another Jinja based Uganda Premier League (UPL) side Gaddafi FC, The-SportsNation can reliably confirm.

Statistically, Wandyaka’s former club did so much better than his new club in UPL last season. BUL had collected upto 36 points, while Gaddafi managed only 31.

BUL finished in a comfortable seventh position on the 15-team table, four places above Gaddafi who fought relegation to the end, to finish 11th, just three positions and five points above relegation.

However, Wandyaka, after over five years at the same club decided that it was time for him to look for a new challenge.

“It’s time for me to move on as a player with a new chapter awaiting me”, said Wandyaka after departing BUL at the end of the previous season.

“I have finally ended my seven years here at BUL FC. I thank the coaching staff, the fans, and all those attached to the club who have indeed made me a proud person.”

The former Jinja Hippos FC academy graduate had joined BUL from URA FC way back in 2017.

At BUL, the midfielder was so loved and cherished, he scored some important goals for the club, and made the fans so happy. He averaged eight goals a season.

Wandyaka was among the key figures at the BUL, who amongst other things guided the team to the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph after a 3-1 win over Vipers FC in the finals in Masindi under then head coach Alex Isabirye.

Now a new journey – a new challenge awaits Wandyaka at Gaddafi.
