Kampala Queens 1-2 Buja Queens

Kampala Queens suffered their first defeat of the ongoing CAF Women’s champions League zonal qualifers following their 2-1 loss to Buja Queens in a game held at Njeru on wednesday afternoon.

Teopistar Situma’s brace was enough as Buja Queens silenced Kampala Queens at Njeru.

Substitute Elizabeth Nakigozi scored the only goal late in the second half as the Queens of Soccer suffered defeat on the day.

It was a disappointing day for Kampala Queens, who had started off this tournament with a comfortable 3-0 win over Yei Joint Stars.

And against Buja Queens, they lacked enough ideas upfront with their main striker Fazila Ikwaput being kept out.

Situma got the opener for Buja Queens in the 21st minute and her goal was the difference at half time.

At the restart, in the 53rd minute, she later completed her brace to put her side in a comfortable lead.

Kampala Queens, tried to stage a come back and substitute Nakigozi pulled one goal back from a free kick, but it only proved to be a consolation.

The loss is a big blow for Kampala Queens, who are seeking to make history and become the first ever Women’s team to reach the final tournament of the CAF Women’s champions League.

They will be back in action on Friday this week against CBE and there must be a reaction from Charles Ssenyange’s charges.
