Freedom Mungudit: Lugazi Sign Exciting Masaza Winger

FUFA Big League side side Lugazi FC has officially acquired the services of exciting winger Mungudit Freedom.

The 20-year old formerly Kampala 4th division side Kamwokya UTD FC player signed a three-year employment contract that will keep him at Lugazi until atleast 2026.

“I’m excited to be joining Lugazi FC. I’ve heard great things about Lugazi FC. It’s a well-respected club with a rich history, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I’m also looking forward to experiencing a new culture and meeting new people,” the player said after signing for the club.

The winger can the operate effectively on either flank, like he’s doing now for the Kooki Ssaza team playing in the ongoing Buganda Masaza tournament.

Mungudit now becomes Lugazi’s 4th signing after Mubarak Mitala, Andrew Odong, and Samuel Nsubuga.

Meanwhile, the club just recently confirmed departure of upto nine players, including their last season’s top scorer Gerald Ogweti and goalkeeper Anthony Emojong.

Bob Charles Akena, Farook Banga, Godfrey Bubi, David Kizza, Tito Titus Lubega, Ben Ntege and Florence Watmon are the other players who have left the club during this transfer period.

After just their first season in the Big League, in which they peeped at promotion to the first division, Lugazi now want to make the move deliberate this term.

They were only 13 points away from qualification, after finishing sixth on the 15-team table with 44 points from 30 games.
