Uganda’s representatives at the ongoing CECAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers, Kampala Queens, will be hoping to maintain their perfect start when they take on Burundi’s Buja Queens in their second game of the tournament at Njeru.

Kampala Queens got off to a perfect start in their first game on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 win over South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars, thanks to Fazila Ikwaput’s hat-trick.

It was a brilliant start for the Queens of Soccer who are making their first appearance on the continent.

And that win saw them move top of group A with three points and a better goal difference.

But despite winning their opener, their head coach Ssenyange Charles revealed that they won’t take Buja Queens lightly.

“We have prepared very well, the past game is history. We are taking each game as it comes, yes they (Buja Queens) lost in their first game but we are not going to take them lightly,” Ssenyange told the club’s media on Monday.

In Buja Queens, they will be facing a side that is hungry for their first win, after falling to CBE in the opener.

But KQ, as commonly known, will call upon their star player Ikwaput, who is the current leading scorer to do the same on Tuesday.

Kampala Queens are hoping to make history and become the first ever Uganda Women side to reach the final tournament of the CAF Women’s champions League.
