Super Eight: BUL, SC Villa Eye Final Slot

Monday, August 14
•BUL Vs SC Villa (semifinal)
•Vipers Vs Maroons (classification)

BUL welcome SC Villa at Njeru in one of the two semifinal games of the 2023 FUFA Super Eight tournament.

BUL, playing at home, will fancy their chances in a one-legged affair where the winner will meet either KCCA or URA who meet next Sunday.

BUL reached this stage after eliminating favourites Vipers thanks Samuel Ssekamatte’s only goal of the game.

“SC Villa is one of the teams this season that have made massive changes just like us and they are well prepared just like we are,” BUL coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko told the Club media.

“We won our quarter final match against Vipers, but the one against SC Villa is going to be a very different game.”

“The game approach is going to be different from the one we had at Vipers but all in all, we are focusing on winning.”

“SC Villa is one team which almost has the same structure like ours, their playing style is also similar to ours. But nevertheless, we’re determined and we are going to try as much as possible to see that we get the second win at home.“

Villa on the other hand, beat Maroons 2-1 at Wankulukuku – Goals each from Hakim Mutebi and Dennis Ojara gave SC Villa the deserved win.

Hadadi Kambugu scored the only goal for Maroons, and the side will meet Vipers today in a classification match at Kitende.

It’s strong to note that BUL beat SC Villa 1-0 twice at Njeru last season, including knocking them out of Uganda Cup in what was Alex Isabirye’s last game as head coach before moving to Vipers
