Kyadondo 7s: Avengers Clinch Maiden Title in National 7s Series

The Avengers became just the second team to win themselves a circuit in the ongoing National Rugby 7s series from the women’s category.

They soared to victory, securing their first circuit triumph after outclassing three-time circuit winners—Black Pearls, 15-0 in the final.

Following an arduous journey marked by three previous final losses to the Black Pearls, the Avengers finally caught their winning charm during the Kyadondo 7s.

With three circuits registered to Black Pearls, the Avenger’s victory added an exciting twist to the series in the women’s category by breaking the cycle set by Pearls and registering a new name on the list of winners.

The absence of key players, notably Charlotte Mudoola due to injury and Emily Lekuru serving a six-match ban, undoubtedly took a toll and impacted the Black Pearls’ performance in the Kyadondo 7s.

Without these influential figures on the field, the Pearls have struggled to mount a convincing challenge against their opponents.

However, the impending return of Emily Lekuru in the next circuit holds the promise of reigniting the spark for her side.

Pearls still tops the log, ahead of Avengers, Thunderbirds and Nile Rapids
